Hartsdale is an area of considerable charm, and it has wonderful access to the city, given its Metro North train station that offers express trains to Manhattan as well as frequent service. The property values are more affordable compared to the bordering towns of Edgemont and Scarsdale, and it has a small walkable village with valuable offerings (restaurants, goods and services). Hartsdale is also bordering White Plains, and Central Avenue runs through it, so it has some of the best access to the local stores and restaurants in the area of central Westchester.

It’s not just a sought after Metro North commute stop due to the relatively empty or completely empty rush-hour trains, it’s also a great place to live.  Hartsdale isn’t a town, but is instead a  census-designated place (CDP).  Because it has a Metro North train station, Most people think of it as a town with great schools and an amazingly smooth commute into Manhattan.
